The International Children’s Cultural Forum will be held between 22 – 24 August in Moscow Palace of the Pioneers on the Sparrow Hills. Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, will start the event.
It is expected that the Forum will be visited by more than 2000 children aged from 12 to 17 from Russian regions and foreign countries. The Forum participants will get acquainted with the achievements in the area of culture and art, will have possibility to communicate with prominent masters and display their talents. The event managers are the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Federal State Educational Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT.
At present the Forum has received more than 2000 attendance requests from the regions of Russia, as well as from the near and far-abroad countries. The greatest number of wishing to participate have artistic sectors “Music” (over 800 applications), “Choreography” (500 applications) and “Theatre and Circus” (276 applications), more than 500 applications have been submitted for sectors “Cinema and Animation”, “Museums and Art”, “Literature and Journalism”.
Traditionally, within the Forum framework, the shortlisted candidates of the “Children’s Initiatives Awards” in the sphere of culture and art development will present their creative works. In 2024 the Forum has received 40 applications from 35 regions of Russia. The four shortlisted candidates will receive the feedback from managers at a special session, and the winner will receive financial support from the Ministry of Culture of Russia.
Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation: “The youngest, beginning artists or children who just like theatre, cinema, music, museums and art history must receive our support and get acquainted with each other within one big event, where teachers of Children’s art schools, as well as educators of acting skills and choreography will come from various regions of the country to communicate and share their experience. And when someone presenting their incredibly bright show or attending some cinema festival or theatrical performance will say: “We got acquainted in Moscow at the Children’s Cultural Forum”, we’ll be sure that our efforts were not in vain”.
Most of the Forum activities will be interactive. Every day the prominent media persons will talk before the children and communicate with them: Nonna Grishayeva, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, Art Director of ROSTA Theatre in Tsaritsyn; Yuri Bashmet, violist, conductor, educator, People’s Artist of the USSR; Yuri Kuklachyov, Honoured Artist of RSFSR, People’s Artist od RSFSR, creator and Art Director of the Cat Theatre; Mikhail Bryzgalov, Director General of the Russian National Museum of Music, Honoured Arts Worker of the Russian Federation; Ernest Matskyavichyus, TV presenter, Director of the First Media Academy Institute of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Director of the Institute of Media of HSE University; Oleg Roy, writer, scriptwriter, producer and public figure and many others. Curators of sectors of the 3rd International Children’s Cultural Forum will be eminent personalities of the Russian culture: “Theatrical and Circus Art” — Sergey Bezrukov, Art Director of the Moscow Governorate Theatre and Edgard Zapashny, General Director of the Great Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Prospekt; “Choreographical Art” — Egor Druzhinin, choreographer, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation; “Literature and Journalism” — Dmitriy Bak, Director of the State Museum of the History of the Russian Literature named after V.I. Dal; “Museums and Art” — Yelena Pronicheva, General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery; “Cinema and Animation” — Gavriil Gordeev, General Producer of Okko streaming service, president and ideologist of the All-Russian Children’s and Family Films and Animation Festival “Medvezhonok”; “Musical Art” — Olga Khomova, Head of St. Peterburg State Academic Capella. They, as well as speakers and experts, will share their experience, knowledge and inspiration with the beginning creators, will listen to the opinions of the young ones and will participate in debates.
A special event arranged together with the fund “Defenders of the Fatherland” will be held during the Forum. The children will hear about the heroism of Russian soldiers straight from the source, they will write letters and make video records for the soldiers who are now heroically defending our motherland.
After the eventful daytime program, the children will enjoy evening concerts with the participation of national satellite groups for children and young people from the regions of Russia. The stage will be taken by the Vocal and Choreographic Studio attached to the State Quire of the Republic of Tatarstan, Children’s Studio attached to the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble named after Faizi Gaskarov of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Honoured Folk Art Group of Russia “The Showcase Children’s Adygea Dance Ensemble “Maikop Twilight” (Adygea Republic), Moscow Dance School attached to the Moscow State Academic Dance Theatre “Gzhel” (Moscow) and other satellite groups.
Traditionally, the Forum events will be covered by the Children’s Press Center of the Young Journalists’ League. The Press Center reporters will continue to compose the chronicles of the largest international cultural event for children: communicate with its participants, curators and media persons, share their impressions.
