The final competition of hackathon “Digitalization in Culture” was held on the third, final day of the 3rd International Children’s Cultural Forum. On previous two days the participants investigated many issues: how to develop new forms of art with the help of digital technologies, save and popularize cultural heritage, make the creative process more affordable for all interested people, enrich and increase cultural opportunities. The task was complicated by the fact that the teams had to compete not with each other only, but also with artificial intelligence: the neural network proposed its own solution.
Totally 9 teams took part in hackathon. The jury defined the winners, having assessed the projects by several parameters: efficiency, creativity, unicity, feasibility, social significance.
The jury consisted of:
- Mikhail Bryzgalov, General Director of the Russian National Museum of Music, President of the Russian Horn Society, presidium member of the Russian Museums Union, Honoured Arts Worker of the Russian Federation, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation;
- Gavriil Gordeev, General Producer of Okko streaming service, president of the All-Russian Children’s and Family Films and Animation Festival “Medvezhonok”;
- Irina Karih, Deputy Chief Development Officer of the Russian Society “Znanie”;
- Aslan Hadjaev, Art Director of the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble “Nalmes”, Honoured Artist Worker of the Russian Federation;
- Olga Khomova, Head of St. Peterburg State Academic Capella, Board Chairman of the Union of Concert Organizations of Russia, Honoured Arts Worker of the Russian Federation.
The winner of hackathon is “Culture River” team (Volga Federal District) with the project of “Moncult” («Памкульт») mobile game, having different levels, which helps to find new information on the cultural heritage with the help of monuments in various regions of Russia. When the quiz is completed successfully after studying the information on some monument or other, the player receives a reward – cultrubles. When a certain amount of cultrubles is gained, the user can receive a merch or presents from partners.
The second place was divided between teams “New Future” (Donetsk People’s Republic, Luhansk People’s Republic, Kherson Region and Zaporozhie Region) and «Girls is гор» (North Caucasian Federal District).
The “New Future” project – application “Unlimited Inspiration”, the target audience of which are young people aged from 15 to 25 with limited health capacities, who live on the territory of Russia and are concerned with creative work and art. The aim of the application is to afford the access to learning resources and creative work for people with health limitations, where they will study, share their experience and create art in convenient and available format. Its main functions are the following: customized lessons, virtual workshop sessions, interactive tasks, society and support, unique design and convenient interface, progress assessment, VR-room for studying and exhibitions, possibilities database, consulting online experts.
The project of the “Girls is гор” team is a mobile application for family game “Back to the Future”, where everyone can adapt oneself to the role of a significant historical character and together with other members of the family to try to make a decision, capable to change the course of history – its consequences will be generated by the artificial intelligence.
All winners have received diplomas, and also presents from the Children’s Radio, book prizes from the youth literature editorial office NoSugar Books of АСТ publishing house and “Eksmo-Classics” publishing house.
