At Parade Square, participants in the 5th International Children’s Cultural Forum are working together to create the «Labyrinth of Cultures» art installation.
White cubes are transformed into canvases on which young people from regions across Russia and other countries depict the ornaments, symbols, landmarks and traditions of the places they call home. Gradually, the individual elements come together to form a single composition, showing how cultures can be both different and closely connected.
Participants from Pskov dedicated their cube to the city’s famous decorative motif and explained its elements: «porebrik–begunets–porebrik».
The cube representing the Republic of Tatarstan features the Kul Sharif Mosque in Kazan, the traditional Tatar dish echpochmak and a national ornamental pattern. The participants also added the Tatar words «Рәхмәт», «Сәлам» and «Исәнмесез», meaning «Thank you», «Hi» and «Hello», respectively.
Each cube is unique, but together they form a single large-scale art installation — a symbol of cultural diversity and unity among the Forum participants.
